I do wonder what percentage of the platform does actively use/ need the alt-text. Would be neat to know.
Its great for everybody and especially for those that can't see the picture.
I think it's super fair for people to push for it, and amazing that the platform as a whole really cares, but in all honesty I find it a little bit harsh that people will specifically not interact if there's no alt text.
I'm at a point in life where spending any kind of time to grow art following is just very tedious. Already have to do it to market my game and it's taking all I have left in me hah!

I think that's fair. I also think on twitter people just don't care to comment anymore, we all just like/ reshare and that's it.
I guess the simple answer is I'd need to be more active, but I kinda dread spending more time online than I should.
I do wish people would interact and just let me know I should care about it as you did, instead of just ignoring it.
I feel like people that do that don't accomplish much, but people like you did make me realize I need to use it!

however, you shouldn't wake up with the mindset "I hope I get big numbers on my internet post." You'd be better off seeing big numbers as a win instead of low numbers as a loss.
I don't at all- it's more so, I was genuinely curious why people with similar numbers than myself on twitter where able to transfer their following so fast on here and I couldn't get even any comments. I don't care about numbers, I just enjoy interacting with people :)

-Start simple, with max 2-3 colors
-Try to think of what the global "tone" is (cold, warm etc) and let that be dominant.
-Don't think of what color something "should " be (grass,green),but more so, how it works best with the current palette

That people are pushing for more alt-text use I think is fantastic, but not interacting is not the way to do that lol.

I also sometimes use gradient maps and color jitter, which adds a lot more variety in there.
They make the game "Palia".
Their art test was basically "redesign the link house" :))
