It’s disheartening to see lots of white starter packs, including in #autism. As many people know, this contributes to underdiagnosis, stigma and isolation
It would be really nice to elevate voices from the #BIPOC community and feel less alone ❤️
Would love to start my own pack - any suggestions?

I'm just a person, we all are. Some people need to remove their individual colour filters.
I’d also love to see more nonverbal, non-speaking, and semi-speaking autism representation - I know we’re out there somewhere!
Can you help?

Suggestions or even just a repost would help if you don’t know many BIPOC accounts, to reach more people! The power of social media ❤️
Thank you so much 😊

(I’m in the UK so especially keen to meet people here but the starter pack would have people from around the world!)
Anyone who wants to be added, just let me know 🙂
🤦🏻♀️ Aww I see. I can understand the confusion!! Thanks for checking anyway, and I’m glad you’re doing better 😊
@itsemilykaty.bsky.social also has a great starter pack and @johngreally.bsky.social & @stimpunks.org both have an epic collection of packs on their website & also shared here.

I had no idea and he was following me
It's easy to talk online. You don't have to read faces if they're bored already. 😅😂 If someone reacts, thank you. If none, no fuss. And I can talk about anything. Lol. Not like face-to-face conversations, draining.
Again thank you! 🙇🏽

Searching “BIPOC & Autistic” seems to return the most hits (as opposed to AuDHD and Autism).
ND spaces are same because yt voices dominate. Trust me!
intersectionality affects us ethnic Minorities a lot more
Please do that starter pack. I would love to join/follow
We really must fight for the recognition of cultural nuance as otherwise we will get erased. Also I abhor cultural homogenisation as it is rooted in supremacy. Just no, in any space.
Btw research shows emotions are not universal. So autism 'supports' are often flawed.
Did I see @barisanhantu.bsky.social on your list?
I'm sinorussian and an AuDHD adult (32). Got diagnosed early this year and talk quite often about it.

These have all been offered by individuals during
global majority, POC, minority ethnic group, racialised minorities, ethnic minority, racialised communities
It is a complex issue but despite
I’ve therefore picked a term that many people seem to be okay with, is commonly used by activists/ peers, & resonates with wider global racial equality movements
Also, I’m part of POC groups (literally named “Queer POC”, for example) that have black people who identify with 1/9
In addition, autism is already a minority (just like certain ethnicities are) and it’s important to distinguish between the different types and layers of disadvantage/ discrimination (including 2/9
Language is complex as I mentioned. For instance, research has shown (as well as many ND advocates here on social media who talk about it) that the majority of autistic people do not like person-first language (i.e. “people with autism”) and 3/9
We need to center their voices, & learn from them.
Boost them.
