Today marks the 104th birthday of American actor Alan Hale Jr., famed for his role as Skipper in Gilligan's Island, and three sequels Castaways of/Rescue of and The Harlem Globtrotters on Gilligan's Island. His untimely death in 1990 halted production on Iggy Pop and Charo Visit Gilligan's Island.

Growing up in the LA area meant that every summer all the relatives would come from the East to stay with us so they could visit Disneyland and Universal Studios.
I learned to hate those places very quickly.
