Gawd! I love Renaissance. I've seen Annie Haslam solo twice but sadly never caught the original band in their prime (before they decided to hop on the new wave wagon)
There might be an avenue for this to make a comeback: Ahmed Alshaiba has a YouTube channel where he covers various popular songs on oud. They’re very well done and have millions of views. (There are a few others, but he seems to be the main dude so far.)
As a goofy teenager in the 70's I did not appreciate Renaissance, but I sure love them now. Give me a time machine and I would go back to catch them live (Pentangle too).
And there's always Van der Graaf Generator's twenty-minute epic about Peter Hammill's guitar and how it's the one thing in the world he can rely on to be honest and true.
