Exactly! I trust @hunterw.bsky.social 's journo verification because I trust him and have been familiar with his work for years.

Vague assurances that they're the real ones, when they won't ID themselves or discuss their verification process, are asking for way too much unearned trust. Skeptical.

I couldn't necessarily "verify" any of these pages as they're mostly aliases rather than institutions, but I would be happy to state publicly if they actually have the expertise and associations they claim to. This could be done anonymously.

It would NEED to be done with assurances of anonymity, sir, with all due respect. These are mostly ppl working in positions which can apparently be terminated w/o notice, or worse, face retribution from admin. As a journo, you understand that risk more than most.

I’d love to see this independent verification happen. At the moment, the only one that I trust as legit is AltNPS, in part bec they’ve been around since 2017 and generally stay in their lane.

I was SisterDawnMarie back then (stupid name) and saw her working like crazy, making lists of families trapped on roofs w pets, elderly, their phones dying and asked her how I could help. She's an incredible person. Yes, it was awe inspiring.💜
