We need to reach a point where, no matter the number of followers, degrees, or associations a person has, if they start going on about birthrates or IQ, we can simply know to respond with "shut the fuck up, dumbass."

There are economic reasons to care about birthrate. We should in fact be the party of universal maternity Healthcare, universal child Healthcare, reproductive healthcare (including abortion), increased child tax credit, childcare subsidies, and strong public schools.
In 1971, Nixon vetoed the Comprehensive Child Development Act on Pat Buchanan's advice to appease conservatives from challenging him in the primaries. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comprehensive_Child_Development_Act The lasting legacy of this decision left permanent damage.
it's fun because you can do all that and, as Europe has found out, it doesn't move the needle much on birth rates at all. you can straight up pay people to have kids and it barely nudges it
the lesson is that, given the choices, people will have kids if they want to. that's it. no amount of social spending nudges those decisions substantially
If you're one of these people who goes on about birthrates and demographics more than, say, concerns about the environment, rising fascism, or income inequality, your jig is very much up.
I hope we can eventually reach this same level up mutually agreed upon derision with the "abundance" folks but I know a lot of you nice Sky people aren't there yet.
I'd encourage us to consider how often there's only 0-2 degrees of separation between the folks promoting these two strains of thought
I got sucked in by the word "abundance," but it doesn't take long into the pitch for that book to realize this sounds like a scam. It's a bait and switch.
Ha! This is my bad. I just assumed he was going to be on the pro side because of her birthrate stuff. He seems to have, imho, a good perspective on this.
More white babies! Deregulate! Privatize! This is the agenda of Silicon Valley neofascists, but there are also supposed progressive intellectuals around this mix.
This strain of tech billionaire bro fascism and the avariciousness of Wall Street billionaires and their followers are what make me nervous about a path I see of two of our most bluest states falling
I feel bad for Simone because she's strongly in favor of babies who aren't white and babies who are born to gay, trans, and single parents but her husband drowns out her viewpoints with his incessant hateful blabbing. I know she did it to herself but I still feel bad.
Absolutely it's racists paranoid about certain bloodlines and cultures, because there are 5 billion more people on Earth now than when I was born. Humanity is in no danger of going extinct because of low birth rates. We were fine when there were just 3 billion humans on Earth.
A common ground for world fascism. "Just as Demographic Winter is the result of the Sexual Revolution, the latter is the result of something called Cultural Marxism… We won’t find our way out of the forest of Demographic Winter until the Sexual Revolution is overthrown…" Don Feder in Moscow in 2014.
somebody posted another article from that conference and it looks like that white couple with the glasses was there (I bet you know who I mean) and the wife is dressing like she's Amish or something now
