Trump was NEVER going to increase the buying power of dollars (by reducing the # of dollars circulating, taxing them back from the richest of the rich). He doesn't want to repay those massive debts he has with dollars that are worth any more than absolutely necessary. He'll do exactly the opposite!
He doesn't pay debts he can get away w/not paying. Those properties are not owned free-and-clear by Trump. Not only does he owe significant amounts of money on them, but they leverage each other as loan collateral. He can't really refuse to pay mortgages, unless he WANTS them to take the properties.
