This happens literally daily and just means the controller did a good job, since he or she called the go-around.
Let’s stop pretending to know what’s normal if you don’t please

But there was the other pilot-initiated go-around when a bizjet crossed the runway without authorization. How frequent is that?
Now govt employees are being treated with contempt, morale is terrible, and if accidents happen, this Admin is getting the blame
Musk couldn’t even understand how ElonJet was built. He therefore has negative credibility reimagining the NAS.
I am not pro #Trump... or pro #Musk!
But smoke in a plane? It has nothing to do with the goverment...
Runway incursions? Those happen world wide, more often then you want to know!
But the deadliest accident in DC happend before the cuts right?
I think #resistance should be based on facts!
It’s not ALL madness out there; but madness nonetheless
In both cases the pilots of the AAL and SWA aircraft executed go arounds.
There is not a safety issue here.
Again, two very different events.
(Oh Google)
One of the BEST posts I've ever read!

Yet Congress continues to cram more flights into DCA. They can’t be expected to use IAD/BWI for the sake of others’ safety.
Though FYI, the Southwest pilot initiated the go around at MDW, the tower started to say something (presumably a go around instruction) but the pilots had already reacted and were in the go. Phenomenal situational awareness on their part.
The private jet pilot should have his licence revoked.
When u cross a runway anywhere in the world,u have a duty to look both ways, incase of incoming and out going aircraft. He did not do that, and almost caused
So how many times a day does it happen - on average - in a large airport?

In all sincerity, this is more unnerving than the crashes.
A GA because another flight took a little longer to get off the ground? Normal.

Would be interested in data showing how many such incidents (and similar) occurred historically, and if there is indeed an increase.
"There was nothing gradual about it," passenger Itai Vardi told the newspaper about the aborted landing. "It felt like the pilot had to make an emergency maneuver."
But I am judging people for spreading misinformation and jumping to conclusions on topics they know nothing about. This wasn’t an incident, the AP should not be writing fear mongering articles based on a passenger being startled by normal operations.
I think DC was just waiting to happen, and tbf this FAA quickly restricted heli flights.
Nothing I have seen can be blamed on the cuts. Beware of crying wolf; save that for when it actually gets worse.
2024 from Jan 1 to Feb 25:
125 total accidents
19 of them fatal
Of the fatals, 3 of them were non-scheduled commercial (11 souls total)
Sean Duffy is an embarrassing waste of space but didn't cause the recent incidents. Give him time; he will.
The minute we start thinking pilots and controllers are not protecting the lives of everyone in the NAS at any given time, we’ve lost the narrative.
The Flexjet pilot essentiay blew through a red light. Luckily there was time for the SWA pilots to react and execute a go around.
It sounded like there was also some interference of a different voice cutting through the controller's transmission during some key info.
I'm just glad it all worked out. ✈️
IDK? Too close for a potential collision for my liking.
That one was in Chicago.
Still does not mean it's a wise decision to install SpaceX lackies in the faa.
Possibly some confusion over which runway to hold at, which is why we must always wait for the FAA/NTSB reports.
Move fast, crash things
Stop bossing us.
Maybe I shouldn’t post until fully caffeinated.
I mean no disrespect.
It hits the exact group of people who have enough money/influence to do something about this mess. It’ll piss off the wealthy
Change my mind
I would’ve needed clean underwear.
Sorry wasn’t clear.
(Another reason for me not being a pilot)
But when stupid people lay off the numbers needed for safe travels
And 1 person has to do the job of 3, you can't blame that loan person if people die
BLAME THE FUKING IDIOT THAT GOT RID OF THE ONES NEEDED FOR SAFETY OF ALL INVOLVED
Grok, five years from now: "pilot, turn right heading 190 SIEG HIEL buy Trumpcoin HODL to that moon!"
