It was moving too fast for the driving conditions in the area, imo. When there are cars parked on the street the thing to do is slow down so that one can brake to a complete stop within 5-10 feet.
Looks like that crossing SUV didn't yield properly and the Tesla was going too fast. And lol what the hell kind of maneuver was that from Tesla? Swerve around SUV? Nah let's crash. It'll be more fun
Given how fast the Tesla was going, if a tight swerve was attempted, it may have flipped over and tumbled. I wonder whether the car was in self driving mode or the driver was distracted by the infotainment system.

1.) Is the Tesla human-driven or unmanned? Can't quite see.
2.) Do we have a good estimate of the speed on impact?
Advice from a pedestrian:
If you can't escape, try to get behind a π/bollard, esp. cast iron. Drivers who "can't see" you will reflexively swerve to save themselves.
