It’s like tennis but easier. Similar rules. It’s popular because it’s not nearly as intense as tennis. I say this as somebody who likes it because it’s not nearly as intense as tennis…
First, they took over the tennis courts and i said nothing, cause I don't play tennis.
Then, they took over the basketball courts and I said "aw,man..."
We played it in gym class like 30 years ago. It’s like a lower-intensity tennis (or really big Ping Pong). Pretty fun. No idea why it got so popular all of a sudden, but it’s been around.
Same, we played it too back in the 80s and 90s in school. I never heard of it outside of school until recently though. What is old is new again, I guess.
I so agree. It is addicting and I can’t figure out why. I didn’t feel this way about tennis, badminton, ping pong. Now, I drive around and look for pickleball courts. Ridiculous.
Me either then I kept seeing signs for it around my neighborhood. It’s cool because anyone can play it (my parents play daily with people of all ages), but I don’t like them replacing basketball courts for pickleball ones. That makes it racist.
This is amazing because I was just talking about this last week and it just goes to show how Society socially assigns value to things quite trendy and temporary
Never was a thing and now everybody's doing it and you're a weirdo if you're not

I'm allergic to pickles so that leaves me out
