I’d be inclined to agree, but the dark meat is a gift sent from heaven. Having to eat white meat should be considered a violation of the 8th amendment though.

Since 1946, Tony’s Jacal, a Mexican restaurant in Del Mar, CA, has been serving turkey-based entrees and apps. The place is always jammed. Not all turkey is stuffed and served with candied yams.

Well I'm not subscribing your TED talks 🤪 Turkey is one my favourite meats. In fact it's the only meat that I can roast and enjoy without adding any spices, beef is a close second, then chicken, and pork isn't an option unless it's smoked or flavoured in a way that I can't taste the porkiness.

My daughters and I decided a couple of years ago that none of us really like turkey. So every Thanksgiving we cook a different meat. Last year was ribs and this year will be corned beef. We still make the usual sides though.

Turkey can be awesome, but the way most households fix it for Thanksgiving is a punishment. Smoked or fried, they can be great. Roasted in an oven, ehh.

The secret is to use a baking bag and LOTS of added butter. Season it however you like. It doesn't come out looking pretty, but it's so moist and tasty. Just use a one-time aluminum baking pan because of the mess.

I've made a rub out of chopped up bacon and then included it in the stuffing. Cooked in a roasting bag. Easily the best gravy I've ever had. No butter needed.

My family started Holiday Nachos 8 years ago and it has become a family institution. Turkey: dry, boring, has to be babysat and carved. Nachos: chop the night before, charcuterie all day, assemble and melt cheese when the hunger kicks in. Far superior.
