The 21yo just trudged off to his grandma's apartment to "show her how to move her Roku to a different wifi network." This is one of the reasons people have kids.

I'm old, no kids & have had to work things out myself.
Been using computers since the 1980s, was a Windows 95 Beta tester & helped catch an original Nigerian fraudster even got a thank you letter!
Lots of us women out there.
My older brother has never used a computer & can't cope with it at all.π§
Right there with you, was 35 when I started college and 50 when I got my master's in computer network technology. I've helped friends in their 70s and 80s learn how to use smart phones when they were stuck with flip phones by their family who thought they were too old to learn! Never too old... π
The internet wasn't on my mind when I had my kids in the late 60s and early 70s. But my son said I had tall kids because I'm short and can't reach the 2nd shelf in the kitchen cabinets.
Now having flashbacks to trying to teach my parents how they could set the VCR to record something off a different channel than the one they are watching.
Grandma learning how to move to a new wifi. Trump learning how to turn on a computer. I don't like the amount of power we are giving to that generation.
I can think of a lot less costly and exhausting ways to solve my tech issues than shitting a pumpkin and then expecting some other poor woman to shit a pumpkin and slog through raising the little gourd when we could be doing something actually valuable with our wild and precious lives. Just saying.

I was 1 of those 70s kids whose mom sent to the store for cigarettes π
