These people instinctively view due process -- and more generally, *rights* -- as a kind of treat, a privilege, that the hegemonic group extends to marginalized groups ... and can yank away the moment it gets anxious.

I asked this on FB and someone's head blew up. They started accusing me of posting my woke takes on their page to corrupt their family. And really, all I wanted to know was who decides.
Due process is an inherent right, to ALL human beings whose feet touch US soil.
You may not like that, but that’s the Constitution. Too bad, move to Russia.
Laws are meant to protect Good Boys. If you are accused of a crime, you must be a Bad Boy. The law is not meant to protect Bad Boys, so you should not be protected by law. They don’t see how flawed this logic is.
