My family revitalizes abandoned homes, maintains them, and rents them fairly. I'm very proud of our work. We also play games of all descriptions, especially on a table. I like math and science most, but am interested in everything. He/Him/His

Few things make me madder than masked "police." Ain't no one here to protect and serve if we can't see their face.

Publicly traded companies are all just competing to see which ones can steal the most money from the poor to give to the rich. "Let me hold on to fifty bucks and I'll charge all these guys a little extra and give you a couple bucks a year forever."

Looking up some numbers. Total health industry expenditures in the US average out to $14,000 per person per year. The Trump tax cuts "only" cost about $1,300 per person per year for ten years. That 14K is a HUGE number, in the same league as the whole federal budget...

Happy Pride, from my littlest. (I just found the pieces when she asked for them.)

The federal government spends about $20,000 per person. I don't feel like my family of five is getting $100,000 worth of government services.

Universal healthcare would be so powerful for this country. Instead, we spend half our money on bombs and big boats. The rich people, who make these decisions, would rather have all of a smaller pie than a fair share of a much larger one. That (and racism) keeps holding us back.

When 15 million Americans lose their health care and plunge into personal crisis, none of them are going to give a shit about a made-for-clicks twitter fight between two billionaires arguing about who gets the bigger share of the corruption spoils.

Oh hey, Ronnie's ghost can drink!

Anybody local have an SD card reader that they know works? My buddy's having trouble with his Switch's card and we just want to look at it with a different device to see if it's the problem or the port is.

It's like the Morpheus v Neo fight when the whole crew comes to watch, except everyone hates them and wants them both to get their faces smashed in. Oh, and they're both incredibly uncool and uncoordinated and the cinematography sucks. And then Crypto (that's his name, right?) hopefully unplugs them

Not only would we lose our position as a world leader in this sphere (too), but all humanity would be diminished by our abandonment of this work. I believe we have a moral imperative to improve all life where we can, and this is something we, and at present only we, can give. We must continue.

Did the Supreme Court just say it's racist to not hire white people?

The free-to-play mobile game I've been playing for more than eight years suddenly stopped authenticating through Google's Play Services. People in the same situation are making new accounts on the company's (EA) forum (because why else would you?) just to try and get answers. Nothing. Radio silence.

YouTube music will now serve "AI covers" of songs to your kids. Ask me how I know!

USIP’s website is back. www.usip.org

Experts are good. They know things. You should trust them. But charlatans know that experts are trusted. They want to be trusted and are very good at pretending. (Some build whole fake universities.) Telling the difference is hard, but also, like, the most important thing in the world.

it’s almost like courage in the face of fascism is rewarded by voters or something
