My family revitalizes abandoned homes, maintains them, and rents them fairly. I'm very proud of our work. We also play games of all descriptions, especially on a table. I like math and science most, but am interested in everything. He/Him/His

I don't know how to explain this to people who don't already get it, but in a democracy everyone has rights. If the system can exercise power over you, the system also has checks to protect you, because you're part of it. No matter who you are, where you came from, citizen or not.

Anyone have any experience on the specific process for getting a rain day return ticket from Kennywood? Other than "that's a thing" their website is thin on details.

Welcome to America, where protesting illegal kidnappings without due process is an insurrection, but attacking the nation’s Capitol is not.

VETERAN: “This is why they can’t wear masks. Because people like this exist… if you want to snatch people off the streets, do it in uniform, and show your damn face.” (@MarshaBlackburn’s Secret Police bill criminalizes transparency and threatens 5 years for naming an ICE agent)

South Side. 1820 East Carson Street - Burger King. Yes, that one. Caller said that they were only smoking weed in the BK and don't see why the employees were so rude when tossing them out.

I'm a middle aged white guy whose family had already been in Connecticut (colony) for a century before the United States came into existence around them. I'm a hundred times more scared of ICE than immigrants. On my dad's side I'm only third generation, via Ellis Island.

The French would have torn up half the rails ahead of this nonsense.

“Some of these supplies were earmarked for 18 countries, meaning those governments may never get the aid even though it was already purchased”

The decision to indict Kilmar Abrego Garcia prompted the resignation of a supervisor in the U.S. attorney's office that brought the charges. Ben Schrader, who had worked as a federal prosecutor for nearly 15 years, stepped down as the indictment was returned. www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...

not sure there's a more embarrassing profession than ICE agent. Oh, you dress like a soldier to abduct sous chefs and throw flashbangs at protesters? Get a real job you loser

if you are scared that protesting will lead to a declaration of martial law than you are effectively already under martial law hth

"they're just gonna use this as an excuse to crack down harder" yeah just like when you finally stood up to your childhood bully and got in trouble for it because he cried. you kinda had to do it anyway though. not just to prove to everyone else that you could fight back, but to prove it to yourself

The people who made Spiderverse are making a new Netflix show called K-Pop Demonhunters. Girl band good guys vs boy band demons in disguise (with the support of the underworld). I am unreasonably excited and if this doesn't inspire a half dozen new RPGs I'm gonna be so surprised.

ICE just set the median (voter) on fire.

Few things make me madder than masked "police." Ain't no one here to protect and serve if we can't see their face.

Publicly traded companies are all just competing to see which ones can steal the most money from the poor to give to the rich. "Let me hold on to fifty bucks and I'll charge all these guys a little extra and give you a couple bucks a year forever."

Looking up some numbers. Total health industry expenditures in the US average out to $14,000 per person per year. The Trump tax cuts "only" cost about $1,300 per person per year for ten years. That 14K is a HUGE number, in the same league as the whole federal budget...

Happy Pride, from my littlest. (I just found the pieces when she asked for them.)

The federal government spends about $20,000 per person. I don't feel like my family of five is getting $100,000 worth of government services.

Universal healthcare would be so powerful for this country. Instead, we spend half our money on bombs and big boats. The rich people, who make these decisions, would rather have all of a smaller pie than a fair share of a much larger one. That (and racism) keeps holding us back.

When 15 million Americans lose their health care and plunge into personal crisis, none of them are going to give a shit about a made-for-clicks twitter fight between two billionaires arguing about who gets the bigger share of the corruption spoils.

Oh hey, Ronnie's ghost can drink!

Anybody local have an SD card reader that they know works? My buddy's having trouble with his Switch's card and we just want to look at it with a different device to see if it's the problem or the port is.

It's like the Morpheus v Neo fight when the whole crew comes to watch, except everyone hates them and wants them both to get their faces smashed in. Oh, and they're both incredibly uncool and uncoordinated and the cinematography sucks. And then Crypto (that's his name, right?) hopefully unplugs them
