I really felt this after my second parent died. The Protectors were gone. It was just my sibs and me. Didn't matter that the youngest of us was over 40, we felt totally like orphaned children.

Reading calvin in the newspaper after school every day made a huge impact on my adolescence. Reading calvin to my 6 year old for their bedtime hit a completely different way, but equally impactful.
It’s a comic that maintains its relatability throughout life. I still find Calvin relatable too in a “I’m secretly a kid wearing adult clothes” kind of way.
