Honestly that's not going to be much different than when they did have power.

The Democrats always fetishized "trusting the system" and trying to convince Republicans to love them. Their stated goals and policies always came a distant third to those.

He won Bill Clinton the primary back in 1992 on a strategy of "fuck the voters, I am friends with a bunch of rich people." It helped Clinton survive all the attack ads about draft dodging and an affair. Surely that didn't cause problems long term for the party.

I won't ever "just vote blue" again. I compromised my morals on a lot of issues to vote for Harris and, just like with Clinton, they actively lost the race.

The average Dem is an apathetic chicken until the knife is against their throat, and they cannot be counted on.
