Playing in the pit all week with mostly high school students. I’m the oldest adult BY FAR (there’s a college student and a younger adult in their 20s) and those kids are just killing it! It’s been really fun!
In the 1st century CE, the Library of Celsus was built in the Greek city of Ephesus. Its façade held four statues of women representing the great virtues. Sophia, Episteme, Ennoia, and Arete.
There you could kneel to humble yourself before them, and within pursue your betterment in their domains.
A little girl ran past me the other day, squealing with excitement as she was heading into a bookstore. She turned at the entrance and screeched at her sister “book shops are the best place ever!!!!!!!!”
Everything - our whole frame - is moving, but not all of it moves at the same speed. Some bits of it move slower than other bits, meaning time runs slower there than average. Space expands into these zones and that's Gravity. Time is motion in the 4th D. The moment is Length Contraction, in 4D.
And anything you can see that is massive and glows, is bigger than the Earth and thus, is Down. It's down in most directions, very little of space is Up, and it's receding from you faster every day if it is, "up." That's the fastest part. The Up.
We don't know what started the motion, we don't know who threw us or where. But we stick to our ball of rock because of it. So does our water and our air. It powers our volcanoes. It drives our weather and our tides. The motion started before there was matter. Before space had more than energy
tomorrow the Boston Red Sox have their first Spring Training game - traditionally, a game played against Northeastern University, giving the college kids a chance to see what the "next level" is like
and it will be the best birthday present the team could possibly give me 😊
I somehow ended up in an online conversation with a mental health nurse. As I am in full psychosis. She is lovely and I am still mad, but it was beautiful
I went to "math night" with my first graders tonight and got to watch them work out problems above their grade level with a little difficulty and SO MUCH excitement. Excited nerd kids in their element are just the best.
I can show some stuff, but I’ve got nothing good to say today 🥴😞
The 2 hibiscus on the end are from the same plant, just one formed color when it was hot, and the other after a cool front. The rose is a Frida Kahlo, amazing fragrance.
Also, Nasima says, “wassup?”
Our teacher’s lounge has an ocean view. When it’s open, I like writing in there. Now every Wednesday my grad school mates and I write in front of the ocean, watch the sun set into the sea, and workshop our writing late into the night.
I have two! A gorgeous pink sunrise this morning and unexpectedly running into my kid, out having fun with friends at school/camp, on my way to an appointment.
My two dogs fought (badly) and they have been separate for 3 months. Tonight they successfully did tricks for treats in the same room together for the first time

Also you can't look anywhere but back when, in any direction in 3D.
Not using the alt text.

(Both sound fun, TBH)
This month's paintings have been... Angsty.
