No, I don't agree with you. What do you actually mean by "violent taxation"? There's no violence. When you take a job you enter a contract to pay taxes which helps run our cities, states and country. Blue states help the poorest red states the most because we are taxed more than them, but we share 🤷♀️

Great idea! My degree was required for my job. You absolutely can not be a registered nurse without a degree. I paid my student loans in full without any help from the government but I would love it if others could take advantage of tax write offs or loan forgiveness.

Maybe as an interim step. I'd like to see a change in funding, grants, limit endowment sizes to lower costs... so that freakishly high loans are not needed in the first place.

Frankly it’s unconscionable that we devised a system of indentured servitude for work. Most employers require degrees. Most families have to take on debt to pay for college. Students then spend 20 years (or more) paying this back. And a degree just qualifies you - doesn’t guarantee a job. 😵💫
I just had a thought. What if people couldn’t get a job because they had a preexisting education. Like health history with health insurance. So you could only get hired and educated wherever you choose to work. Sounds like might be a good dystopian nightmare movie.

Agreed. As a real estate broker, I was allowed to deduct any related education expenses. The real idiocy was I could write off my 2 week vacations by advertising and holding two 1/2 day seminars about investing in real estate in the US, and deduct the the entire trip - my wife's expenses as well.

I paid most of my kids' tuition so they wouldn't be stuck with huge payments.
I would love it if others were not in this situation.
