Based on some of the folx I’ve seen in the coffee shop, the cat would be most welcome. (Seriously, the abuse some people wreak on the person serving them is rather breathtaking. Really need to chill out)
That level of okay with yourself reflects an overinflated belief in your own right to ignore others in your sphere. I'm a cat lady and my cats don't take priority over the comfort of humans. Neither should yours. But then, it's not actually about the cat, it's about the narcissistic owner.
No - your response reflects an overinflated belief in your own right to tell other people what to do and a lack of understanding that you should ask questions before you make a disrespectful assessment because YOU think your feelings and thoughts are more important than
Others. The cat was in a carrier and not a single person in the coffee shop cared one bit. In fact, it was the opposite. Your nature to police everyone, is a bad trait.
I like the sentiment but understand how incredibly allergic many of us are. My eyes and throat close up and it’s very painful. They’re not on the floor like a dog, they are on the chairs and tables. I touch those hours later and have a reaction. Please don’t.
I saw the strangest cat walk the other day. It was in a customised see through case on wheels like a suitcase living is life to the full, with its hooman pushing it
My local café allows owners to bring in their dogs and cats and it's the best thing in the world. This older gent would walk there every day with his cat on a leash and they'd sit together at a table and vibe/give out pets and everyone loved them
I was just at a dive bar and a woman had a cat riding on her shoulders the whole time. It had a leash but never bothered to leave her shoulders for 2 hours.
I go hiking with my gray cat Melatonin. I was gonna get a dog, contacted breeders, and my friend posted “does anyone want a kitten?” Somehow I ended up with a small kitten and told her she needed to be my walking buddy, she needed to be a golden. She goes hiking and walking with me.
Like to get to the level of being comfortable to just break societal norms, it takes work, but then it’s fun. My nephews think it’s normal to take cats for walks. Mel loves it. We get in the backpack and go.
During the summer, when I was homeless, I regularly took my cat, Puss in Boots, into Starbucks. The only reaction we got was, “Oh! Look! what a cute kitty!”
You want to be so comfy with yourself that you can ignore public health concerns/norms and selfishly bring your pet into a public space where people could be allergic? Ok!
Implying the person was “comfortable” enough to do what they do implies they were thumbing rules or norms. Which means they were taking a cat that normally isn’t allowed into a space
"Fuck your allergy I want to enjoy myself without worrying how it impacts others' health" is one possible interpretation. But not the only one and almost certainly not the intended one.
Yep, this person is actively and maliciously promoting an attack on not only people with allergies but the very fabric of our social norms. That’s definitely what this post is about
I don’t think it’s malicious at all and I understand where op is going, but it just seems a bit selfish and entitled. How about we all just ignore rules because we are “ok” with ourselves just doing whatever the hell we want while ignoring possible negative outcomes to others.
Hello,I am omer from Gaza.🍉
I lost 3 of my children before the war, and my suffering only worsened💔.
My home was destroyed, and I lost my job. I have nothing left. Kindly Share my gfm !!!
Please don't ignore or skip , that is important to my family 🫂💕
I'm Autistic. I have too many thoughts, feelings, and sensory issues. Cats can be very honest. I don't get on well with dogs. I like some of them. They don't like my energy. Enjoy your rest
That’s a shame. Monkeys and dogs are great, because they’re honest! Cats play games, and I’m tired after my work week. Bless anyone who knows how to play the cat game.
Why is it always a dorky white male who assumes cats make someone lonely? She was on her way to the veterinarian and didn’t want to leave the cat, in a cat carrier, in a cold car in the winter….do some soul searching, dork.
That would be a valid excuse, but people in the comments were praising cat cafes, so those sad people definitely exist. I am a dork and an asshole, but that is a separate issue.
Right? Cats in coffee shops are the ultimate vibe! 😻 It’s all about embracing that comfort and joy in life. What a lovely way to bring a little happiness into our day! #CatLovers #CoffeeTime
no, i will police people doing health code violations
cats walk around in a box of shit and piss then walk all over the kitchen counters
hair in the air everywhere
never accept food from someone who owns a cat
Right, because dogs don’t shed. Dogs also eat shit..their own, cats’, other dogs’, then want to lick your face. I like dogs, but don’t claim they’re cleaner than cats.
I think there’s a couple who live near clapham common that walk their ducks to the pond every day. I did not know this was a regular thing!! (Love it).
As for training, they can learn words and commands. They are super routine oriented and you will eventually learn what the sounds and mannerisms mean. They communicate well. As for poop, there is nothing to do about it other than puppy pads and covering furniture. Any pet is messy in some way
My daughter was obsessed with teacup pigs as a small child. We got two to come to the house for her birthday years ago - they were really intelligent, friendly, inquisitive, & fun…but the mess everywhere was more than I could cope with. Very glad to see them leave. Horses for courses!
Until I rescued our first duck as a 2 daynold duckling and raised it, I never knew there were communities for caring for ducks and their well being. This guy was adopted from someone who couldn't keep him. He was young enough that he latched onto us really well. He's basically a feathered dog now.
There are a fair amount of people from England on the closed community group on FB. Australia as well. Just sent Christmas cards to a couple in Suffolk who has duck pets. It's tremendous work and not for everyone.
I was meeting up with cousins on a rainy day at a coffee shop, and there was a small dog tied up outside. I waited & waited for my turn, as the woman in front of me chatted away with the barista. It was only mildly annoying until I suddenly realized it was her dog tied outside in the rain. Grrr.
We have the ‘Kitty Cafe’ in Leeds it has about 6-7 cats that freely wander around and sit in baskets near tables and on the window ledges, it’s one of the busiest in town and often people just stand at the windows looking at the cats.🐈
A naked blonde walks into a bar with a poodle under one arm and a two-foot salami under the other. She lays the poodle on the table. Bartender says, ‘I suppose you won’t be needing a drink’. Naked lady says....
One of my favourite aspects of my job is that our store welcomes animals. We have many regulars who come visit, we know them better than the people. "Oh, that's Max's mum. Oh, there's Oskar's parents. That's Tikka's mum."

Honestly having a cat is the most beautiful life can ever give so...
Just opened up. It’s a way to meet cats you want to adopt and has coffee in a relaxed space.
(My dog respectfully be vehemently disagrees).

like people's homes
The cat was in a carrier. You can chill out and stop policing everyone else. It’s their world, too. Maybe stay home, yourself. That sounds better.

Don't tell me you share with the duck, you weirdo!
If there's only one pint on the bar, where's yours?
Practical mum question- Are they house trained?
How adorable. Enjoy your feathered friend.
But I'm willing to cook/bake so there are some trade offs lol
When we had cats, we had three friends/relatives who wound up in the emergency room - and our home is “german clean”
