Having worked in institutions where people often keep raising their bête noir issues like this, I imagine the conversation in govt probably went : Trump's off on one again about using Turnberry - not going to happen so let's just find out chapter and verse on why it's a definite no, and tell him.

Me too, until then it's not really a story that someone's been tasked with looking into it, particularly when it's already been said that it's likely to be a non-starter and not even up to govt to decide. I'll be the first to protest if they announce they're doing it.
