I remember my high school English teacher telling me I wasn't very good at metaphors yet here I am an author with multiple books. So every silver spoon has a cloud around it.

An author with multiple books, that's nothing.
I had a teacher snach a calculator out of my hand, said I would never always have one.
Well, look at me now.
It all adds up
I had a miserable spinster of a 6th grade math teacher who told me I βjust wasnβt very good at math.β
Turns out it was her teaching that was the problem, and Iβm actually pretty good at itβbut I didnβt overcome my fear of math until I was in grad school and forced myself to get over it.
Yeah. I had a Spanish teacher in high school who told me that I wasn't good in Spanish. She failed me one quarter just to spite me. I lived in Mexico for 12 years, spoke fluent Spanish in one year, and have spoken / written flawless Spanish for 40 years. Algunas maestras son malas. Ni modo.
Yes! My middle school (9th grade) English teacher was awful to me. I adored her. She made us write our obituaries and then freaking criticized mine. Can you imagine? RN & Esquire here. She can π my arse. It was abusive now that I think of it. Circa 1979.
