I believe drunk driving should be illegal and I also believe one US city should legalize it like Vegas did gambling. I'd recommend a nice Midwestern town like Appleton.

true but new orleans is set up all wrong for this, a disproportionate amount of the drinking happens on pedestrian-only streets and this tends to insulate the drunks from the consequences
I recently went to Rockford, IL and I think it's the right combination of things to do, views to admire, and reasonably low density, to make it a true drunk driving destination.
Not being allowed to play outside after dark will be a small price to pay for the trickle down economic benefits the children of Rockford are going to reap.
I remember hearing stories about how the Wisconsin legislature considered reducing the state drinking age back to 18 because they figured what they'd miss out on federal highway funds they'd make up in liquor tax revenue. If only they'd tried their brave little experiment.
