IMO, Steam Next Fest is the future and will be a better place to promote your games than not E3. Mark my words.

So... Steam Next Fest happened again, and the number of folks that have been disappointed by their game's performance seems to be growing higher and higher.
I looked at the number of demos launched on Steam in the window of each Next Fest the past five years, and.... 🤯

Have found in my experience wishlists aren't converting in the same way as before. Easy to wishlist 100 cool games at SNF.
To be honest with you, that depends on the price! Nowadays it is common to only know the price at launch, and more often I go "I'll wait for a sale..."
Even so, small indies are the ones I buy most, specially of the publisher didn't go crazy on the price.
They might not convert as much AT LAUNCH, but I wonder how many more are converting *over time* compared to those getting lost in the E3 shuffle.
I believe the iii Initiative did the best job so far for indie games when it comes to Showcases. If people not instandly wishlist your game I doubt that they will remember it after.
For indie games it's still the best spotlight they'll get, but for AA and AAA, it's still Geoff's shows, for better or worse.
also you can literally scroll steam yourself
Then you know that if you do that during Next Fest you'd see other games. Doesn't even have to be for that long, Steam has different ways of surfacing games with NF and assuring they get seen
Obviously there need to be some form of curation but as someone who watched 300 trailers over the sgf week, I can remember maybe 10-15 games.
