This year I am thankful for everyone who agrees that big money donors and out-of-touch strategists must be blamed for the harm they have caused due to their endless greed and corruption.

Maybe candidates need to focus a bit on the huge mass of disinterested centrists. Both sides have been pitching to the extremes for a long time. And Netflix has won the last several elections by a landslide
No one is pitching to the left of center, though. We are disenfranchised. The Dems do pitch to the center. More and more, they take the position of the old Republican Party from before the Tea Party & Maga.
I should come clean. I'm Canadian. What we consider centre is probably what you consider left of centre. Tea party is probably close to where our Conservative party is.
(Although now in the Trump era there is a growing fascist voice on the right here too)
Like Elon musk, shit is ridiculous. It’s easy to blame big money donors if you turn a blind eye to the elephant in the room. We are on Bluesky for a reason. Elon musk ran the biggest and most expensive disinformation campaign in US history.
While I agree that dark money had alot to do with the election, I think the larger part of blame is the media. The big media corps like MSNBC/Fox/CNN gave TrAmp the ability to dog whistle 24/7. And the media had so many people checking the news to see what TrAmp said next. Click bait name drop.
Out of touch strategists cost the Democrats the White House and there was tons of big money flushed down the toilet. Once Biden backed out everyone should've just saved up for 2028 and let Trump have a free pass. If he lost you know he wasn't going away.
I still think in 10-20 years we will have a proper label for the hyper affluent who make things worse for the human race at large, because no amount of money is ever enough.
If you are so rich that you could have like 5 generations of your family never have to work a day, you aren't allowed more.
And yet so far there's very little accountability.
And all those garbage parasites who pushed and keep pushing the poison vaxx...still getting away with murder.
We need to double-down on the corruption issue, with draft legislation at the local, state, and national levels. Make it a topic of discussion. Suck the air out of the room at town halls, at city council meetings, at legislative gatherings. Talk about it in church.
When the bombs have finally been dropped and they hide in their cozy bunkers… when they come out, no one will be there to help them. And they will be helpless.

As I get older, I sometimes think about what will happen after it’s my own time to go.
And I kind of suspect, too, that those whose life was all about “Get more money, no matter how!” IMHO will be surprised to learn that our lives were Not supposed to be about Get more $!😊
People don't live forever. But I have met many people who make decisions as if they will just keep living. I met a woman once who was angry that her husband suddenly could not walk. They had just bought a two story home with no first floor bedrm/bathroom. They were late 80s in age. Same w/ finances
