I say this as a 70 something. We should pass laws that require members retire from leadership at some age. 65 usee to be the CEO rule for many large public companies but I'd be ok with 70. Not forcing them out, just reducing their influence. Their counsel is welcome, their leadership problematic.

Normally I would support keeping the government open as the party that shuts down the government gets their butt kicked in the next election. The GOP has already shut it down, the people are angry and Dems standing up for them would be the first physical thing to show they have their back.

If Dems in the Senate do end up supporting Republicans with their vote and getting it passed, I believe all registered Democrats that appose this should change their affiliation to Independent immediately to send a message. But I'm a nobody to lead such a movement. Maybe God can help.
