I’m Canadian - naturalized American. We were the only ones who moved here. My Canadian cousins are angry. One of my uncles said Canada is completely unified over this.

I’m with you. National anthems (before professional sports events) are a vestige from WW2. Then again, Trump has instituted a senseless “trade war” between the U.S. and its closest neighbours and prime trading partners, Canada and Mexico. So, American anthem has become a flashpoint in the pushback.

FWIW, I'm British and am totally ashamed that our government has showed no support for Canada, one of our oldest friends.
