Now he's talking about introducing Latin into all state schools, under the banner of "levelling up". How about teaching kids life skills, cooking, woodwork, health & hygiene, growing food, etc etc? Stuff they need to look after themselves, and that also make spark a, unknown, skill and interest.

Agree but not for compensating 50s women. I'm one of the affected but knew it was going to happen back in 95. I don't want young tax payers giving me compensation - life is tough enough for them.We had free university, child benefits , affordable houses etc. Marched for equality with men, got that!

Good points. Now explain where the money would come from. BTW my top three wishes were the 2 child cap, ending homelessness and removing all U.K. citizens, starting with kids, out of poverty. I think homelessness is possible from existing expenditure. The others work together, but there’s no money.

The poorest don't/won't get it. When universal WFP was abolished,1.4m claimed pension credit. Another 880,000 were eligible but didn't claim. Govt estimates 150,000 might. Thousands below the income ceiling will miss out. There are thousands between the ceiling and poverty line and won't get WFP.

That's their problem, surely, if they don't claim it? My son and his partner, both in decent jobs, can't afford to put their heating on. No entitlement to any benefits. Never got WFA. Paying for the pensions of wealthy pensioners who had cheap housing, free education and jobs for life
