The EO basically “orders” the DoJ to seek Rule 11 sanctions. Ho hum. Attorneys can seek R.11 against the DoJ as well. The gross part is the “Attorney General, alongside the Counsel to the President, shall report to the President periodically on improvements by firms to capture this hopeful vision.”

Sorry Jessica but that's not quite correct. In fact, it's a little worse. Sanctions are not disbarment, although disbarment can sometimes stem from sanctions. The DOJ is not responsible for barring/disbarring lawyers. Sanctions are court-imposed consequences for lawyer dishonesty. Fines, basically.

Thanks for posting this. It doesn’t say anything about disbarring the “vexatious” attorneys, though. Rule 11 sanctions under the federal rules of civil procedure are imposed by a judge, in federal court, not the executive.
