Going to have to read up on this phenomenon. I've never experienced this before. So tired I can't keep my eyes open, but can't seal the deal and make it to actual sleep. So tired I had to stop multiple times while typing this to clear my vision, but I can not sleep. WTF?!?!
Comments
Take some time off.
1. Don't use sleep medication
2. Try a 45 min stroll a couple of hours before bed
3. Stop social media 2 hours before bed
4. Try low-dose melatonin
5. Check w/ your doctor, but magnesium taurate DROPS have been the most effective

I have PTSD and had the same issues, they gave me a low dose of Prazosin, and it really helped.

As advised by my cardiologist as the best for sleep regulation.
For the last month I've only been getting about 4 hours of sleep each night.
This is a fight or flight reaction. Our bodies know we are in grave danger and sleep is not conducive to survival.
Magnesium glicinate is a godsend. Melatonin has had a bad wrap, but turns out to be good. Both are actually good for your brain.
Laymen’s diagnosis- high cortisol levels. Stress.
You are not alone.
I had to just to combat the feeling of overwhelming helplessness, but that’s the plan to break us.

With insomnia, it's likely you are not getting enough of both.
Have you tried a newer orexin receptor antagonist like Quviviq or Dayvigo? It's the only thing that's ever worked for me.
Just how many gummies have you had?🤣🤪
If that doesn't work I read a TCP/IP handbook or Moby Dick.
Take a shower. Wash your face, wash your hair. Your body has an alarm system for some truly simple dangers.
Where is America going??
Perhaps time out from the stress is needed (although it’s such an anxious time, it’s almost impossible).
When dealing with my son’s childhood cancer. I did not sleep much while he had treatment. I learned to rest my body. Feet up recline. Deep breaths count backwards from. 75. Resting does wonders. You can function with rest. Thank you for all you do

It puts that restless cycling, part of your brain to sleep!
Personally I deal with lifelong insomnia by taking melatonin. I tried it in youth & hated it but now that my body naturally produces less, it’s helpful. (Staring at screens also destroys it.) I recommend chewables. Sleep3 timed-release pills work but are too high a dose.
But, I really doubt that many women are falling to sleep listening to Matthew McConaughey’s ASMR bedtime stories.
Well, I’m sure they do…eventually…
I sleep very little.
Since Jan 20. Only 3 years and 11 months to go.
Stress will get us in so many different ways it will always be difficult to pinpoint. For me I end up with a head full of glue, I feel like I am wading through quick sand. My organisational thinking is cucked, I cannot cope with many normal daily tasks.
I hope you find a way to de-stress.
