The Sister bought us lamps that can be charged through USB or solar charged. They also charge devices! This may be their first test!

I have to get some gas for our camping stove tomorrow. Can’t be doing without me tae!

With the schools set to close across the country tomorrow, if there are any uniforms that need washing, stick them in the washing machine tonight ahead of any power cuts!

I live in the midwest of the US & we get cold storms/power outages a lot. If you lose power, put up blankets over your doors & try to stick to one room of your house. Use candles for heat/light, lots of layers of clothing. If you put tea candles in a muffin tin, you can boil water & soup over it.

Oil lamps are a great source of heat too. If you have a tent, put it on your bed and sleep in it, your body heat stays within. Bottle up as much water as you can in advance.

Never lost power & here almost 8 years! Theres benefits to living in wilton as i’m on same line as cuh & esb HQ is only 10 minutes walk down the road from me! Feel lucky we never lost power!

I remember doing that at home because it was on a well but we live in town and have only lost power momentarily in the past! Will have fuel in for fire, food and drink, knitting, lights and weigh down the cats and small dogs I think that covers it 🤔

Cooking something today that can be eaten cold tomorrow, a lump of bacon, chicken breasts, something, & as we have teens at home, making sure we have lots of sandwich material & snacks
12hrs was our longest blackout, so not too worried, it will just be a pia

We are not very rural but expect power to be out, getting power banks charged tonight, making sure we have batteries for lamps & candles, making sure we have extra duvets & big jumpers in case we have no heat
Must get gas for the camping stove because the fecking kellykettle is no use in a storm

Charge the power banks. Plenty of batteries & food that doesn't need heating/prep. Few flasks with boiling water. Do the bath thing as well.

Fill the freezer with stuff, even if it doesn't need to be frozen– mass takes longer to warm up than air, so that extra stuff helps to keep everything else cold if the power goes!
