One the best animated films I've ever seen, the sequels and TV show are hit or miss, but while some have come close, none have recreated the epicenes and emotional impact as the original film.
My go to dinosaur film until june 1993. Also interesting a lot of animated feature films like this one and the Disney films had a quite short runtime compared to most movies. This one ran at 1h and 9 mins.
This was our Friday night “buy all the snacks, order pizza, and hang out” movie when my kids were toddlers. It’s always been one of my favorites and love that my kids also enjoyed it.

i grew up in the 2000s so i saw a handful of the land before time movies as a kid, but i didn't know it had so many sequels so i would always wonder why it always felt like i was watching a different movie 😭
For years I sang this song to all my fur family members when they were scared and also the night before they were put to sleep when they got older. I can’t listen to it without sobbing thinking of them and also of Judith Barsi (the voice of Ducky 🥺) such a beautiful song!
I watched that for the first time in 2007 and cried when his mum died,like, she could have kept running, why did she off herself to save her son,what a pointless sacrifice, they both could have kept running for a while longer I think
This movie messed me up as a kid lol loved it though. Just when Little Foots mom died I was not okay. I actually had to look up to see if those dinosaurs even existed in the same time period just so I knew that this could never have happened in real life.
Fun fact: two weeks or so will mark the 36th anniversary of the day that my innocence was shattered, I learned that everyone eventually dies, and life never looked quite the same again!
