They planned everything unlike this one
They acquired the rights to adapt Electric State themselves. It wasn't Netflix who asked them to do it...
Simon Stalenhag deserved better than to have his work be butchered like this. His art books are so good, especially The Electric State and Things From The Flood

heck, tales of the loop was reportedly $10-15M per episode, for 8 eps thats max $120M, this movie has less than 1/3 of tales running time and costs 3x more
