Some VC-bro conference had one parked on the plaza in front of the Metropolitan Opera House this past weekend. It was offensive in every way imaginable. Every. Way.
"...every babe that weeps at your approach, every woman who cries out 'Dear God, what is that thing?' will echo in your perfect Harman Kardon audio pickups."
It looks a lot like a Pinewood Derby car shaped by a Cub Scout who forgot about it until the night before the race/show. Is Elon a frustrated Cub Scout?
Parked next to one yesterday in Central Jersey. It was multicolored (some sort of tint/wrap, I guess?) I was going to get close enough to look through the window at the interior but was afraid it might do something to me...😬
Given that Elon has perhaps the worst sense of humor of any public figure I’ve ever seen, a design engineer wanted to highlight that by getting him to enthuse about that thing, little realizing it would actually be green lighted. He’s no doubt hiding his head in shame and burning his resume.
I will never forget the first time I and my teen daughter saw one and she was gobsmacked by how ugly it was and just started laughing as the old guy* driving it got out and seemed ashamed.
I heard second-hand from a Cyber truck owner that he gets flipped off at least once a day, from both sides of the political spectrum. The right hates them because they're EVs and the left hates them because Elon.
That’s so weird that you’re seeing your first one. I live in Austin and probably see five a day, and have been doing so for quite a while. And, yes, they are hideous. And very large, too: you can’t really tell until you’re parked next to one or something like that. But they are huge!
Ever hear the phrase that someone’s got a smackable face?
I have that reaction, every single time. It just feels like it’s ruining the highway experience for all of us. And given the highway experience is already pretty bad…
It's shocking the first time you see one in person. I knew it was going to be the dumbest thing I'd ever seen and it still somehow surpassed my expectations of stupidity and ugliness.
They are far uglier in person. Was next to one on the way home today. If there is a better way of saying “I’m a huge douche,” I don’t know what that would be.
Oh god, you are not wrong. I saw one wrapped in candy apple red a few days ago. Have seen camo and black as well. But my favorite is one that was parked in the wrong neighborhood and got covered with graffiti. It got moved before I went back to get a pic, sadly
They are an automotive abomination. I am glad that Musk is better at designing rockets than he is at automobiles. The Cyber truck is horrible. I would drive an electric F-150 if Ford wants to loan me one.
Very true. I'm waiting for a few of them to leave and start their own rocket company, or work for Bezos, or RTX, or who knows where the eventual brain Xodus will lead.
I'll seen several down here in Alabama. Including a neon, lime-green one. I can't help but wonder how long it will be before I see one hauling a lawn service trailer. It's a long-held tradition down here. A jacked-up, weekend-party truck for "business".
That was my reaction the first time I saw one. I honestly couldn’t believe anyone would buy that thing. I didn’t even know what it was, so it wasn’t just a Tesla reaction.
I don't really have much desire to criticize the NYT. When memes suggesting that an assassination attempt on President Trump might be a Republican hoax were circulating, the NYT helped prevent further division in America through timely reporting 1/
and serious fact-checking. This reflects the paper's high level of integrity—both a right and a responsibility. However, the NYT should bear significant accountability for any false reports it publishes.

"Electric vehicles are very vulnerable to collision accidents due to their batteries, and repair costs are extremely expensive. Therefore, my interest in the Cybertruck, which is safer from collision accidents, is based on economic considerations."

No one needs to see that.
Henry Ford was a Nazi sympathizer too. What's with these guys?
Don't want that too close behind U❗️🙄
Too much Tesla energy!
Actually no, to be fair to my freezer, it’s uglier than that
so I could look inside
It's just as ugly in there too
Few months ago one honked its horn in front of my house
Sounded like a foghorn with erectile dysfunction
But without a loud muffler...I don't know...
