NNSA is "semi-autonomous" but still exists under DOE. Also only about half the network is NNSA... Office of Science owns PNNL, INL, ANL, ORNL & BNL + smaller facilities like TJNAF. Almost all contractor employees.

Please forbear a noob question. Reports surfaced last week they wanted to take axe to DoE employees. Does DoE run nuke security solely with its own personnel? Is it in partnership with US Armed Forces? How does it work? Just trying to get a handle on things...thanks.

The most overt messing around I expect at the labs and PA sites is a repeat of what INL has already done - overzealous compliance w/EOs, especially an end to telework. Would also think that when the M&O contracts are up for recompete, you might see some... unusual awards there.

Lab employees aren't DOE staff ( for the most part) the labs were privatized in the early 2000s. NNSA, however, is part of DOE.

Yes... biggest concern on my end is that this disproportionately affects the non-weapons work. Nonpro, GMS, and of course project management in NA-10 and 90. Which we're already stretched thin on.
