Yes, tons of planes fly, planes have issues, not trumps fault…..seriously??? Muzrat said, “it will take planes falling from the sky to get rid of the DEI”….such an off topic, strange thing for a person to say, was he making a threat?? Every plane event since don’s election I think of musk comment
If Biden were still in power, Trump would be saying “I’ll stop aircraft wings striking the runway on day one.” And then he’d destroy the aviation system in his first month.
I wonder how many of these incidents have been suppressed like in red states we hear a lot of reports coming out of blue states but I'd wager Texas has had several close calls
Another plane incident? Wow! I mean it’s almost like a bunch of air traffic controllers and ppl responsible for the safety and maintenance of planes were fired by an out of control drug addict or something!
You cannot blame the FAA cuts for this. Yeah, it's bad. The FAA cuts are stupidity extrapolated to its greatest dimension but, they had nothing to do with this. Unless they did.
Your aircraft wing hits the ground while landing, and you're ordered to go airborne again rather than complete the landing??? Explain it to ne like I'm a passenger on the flight.
My husband read the headline and his response was: “Pilot aborted the landing??”
Seriously! I would be one of those crazy screamers! I HATE flying, especially take offs and landings!! 😩😩😩 this is my worst nightmare!
But does this apply to a plane with a possibly compromised wing? And the pilot wasn’t even aware?? “On air traffic control audio, the controller told the pilot, ‘Somebody saw some sparks from one of your wings, you guys feel anything?’ The pilot responded, ‘We didn't, but we'll check it.’” 😳
The pilots aren't going to know about wing strike unless it's really hard. They are focused on the increased workload of go around procedures. Either the tower controller (person/ role you are talking to while about to landing)
Thanks for those! I know about wing flex, but in the other vid, doesn’t scraping off that bit under the winglet affect airworthiness or the structural integrity of the wing?
If the wing hits the ground, by definition, not all the wheels are on the ground. My guess is continuing to force the plane downward in that configuration greatly increases the chances that the wing breaks, possibly explosively. Better to just reset.
I'm gonna read the article, but I doubt it will explain...How does one "abort" a landing when the wing being damaged heavily impacts the "not landing" aspect?
The total black hole around the total covid mismanagement was barely mentioned during election season, how on earth did it get memory holed because it was outrageous and every single person was stuck in their house and forced to watch, he stopped testing to hide the numbers ffs
More than a million Americans died of/from COVID-19. That’s more deaths in 2 years from a virus than all the casualties of every war the USA has ever engaged in - soldiers and civilians. But you don’t hear that truth much anymore. COVID started on Trump’s disastrous watch and unforgivable response.
Seems to me if you compromised a damn wing you finish landing!
When they bounce the tail,it breaks the ability to hold pressure at altitude the dummies need to stop re-certifying flying deathtraps.
I've been an Amtrak rider for a while. The seats are more comfortable than flying, and the scenery is nice. I always upgrade to business class and it's not a lot more - sometimes only $20 more. It's a much better experience overall. And these days I'd avoid flying like the plague.
A friend of a friend had her flight canceled a few days ago. This is the message she got: "Your plane is canceled because air traffic control is limiting the number of arrivals at your destination airport." Never heard this one before.
It’s not unusual to have a “ground delay” or “ground stop” where flights to a certain destination are held because that airport is too busy to accept them. Normally they aren’t cancelled but maybe the delay would have been too long? Active ground delays are listed on this page: https://nasstatus.faa.gov/
Often it’s because the weather got worse and planes need to space out more, so there aren’t enough landing slots per hour for the number of flights scheduled. Ground holds avoid the flights needing to fly in a holding pattern for a long time.
Sure, I can't wait to fly the friendly skies again. My brother in law just dropped his 21 year old daughter off to see some band playing tonight in Chicago. he's showing a little too much faith in her, but that's really none of my business.
Love me some Pete. Every damn day I miss him. He kept us safe. Isn’t it strange when we were so pissed about flights being delayed? I was in that cause my kid was delayed 12 hours. But she made it ALIVE! Im raging against the machine a lot today! Sorry I’m just WTAF?!
If a wing strikes the runway while landing it is too late to abort. I once aborted a take-off right before "commitment speed" and that's no fun, either.
Is it just me or a plane that hits a wing on the ground upon landing “averts a landing” and than goes back up into flight mode? I had to read that one a few times. 😳
Have we ever seen this ? Even in YOUNG prez JFK days- a friend’s child hanging out w US PREZ on US MARINE FORCE ONE? Child endangerment? Where child’s parent/legal guardian?trump THE new MichaelJackson scandal w little boys?Persuades little boys w his BIG toys & helicopter? Start such rumors now!
This is so weird. Elon is so weird. Cybertrucks are so weird. Why do they want to destroy democracy? that’s weird too. It isn’t perfect but it’s better than a dictatorship.
Not weird if u r full of hate of others. Others that u feel R taking from U. Others that U blame for all your misery. It is not all about $. It is all about HATE.
Just a thought... You win over the people of Texas, you beat Trump. I don't say this to sound like no other state matters, because they do. I say this because Texas holds one of the biggest armories in the land along with California.
Maybe there should be a little less time gaslighting Americans, disregarding the Constitution and playing golf and a little more time actually solving legit problems? The kind of problems that are real and negatively impact the lives of Americans? What a fucking concept.
So, wait. An airplane struck it's wing while landing and they aborted the landing? They went back up into the air with a probable damaged wing? I'm not a rocket scientist in any way, but I am unable to make sense out of this news.😫
What the F is a go-around, and why didn't the pilots realize the planes wing hit the tarmac? X Q Z mwa, but I'd rather have DEI or anyone at all who knows how to do the job on staff of the intended job!! There was no contact between ATC and the pilots? You see how this just got way worse?!
So, like I suspected, I got one part of the story. Dammit!! What's it take to get a full and thorough, honest report these days? A friggin bar of soap seemed to work for my Mom!!🤣
Is anyone keeping count if all these airplane crashes, incidents, etc on trump’s dept of transportation watch? Or has everyone been fired? All fluff and no substance in king CON administration. 🙄🙄🙄
I know that some of these are just pure accidents, coincidences that just happens sometimes but the fact that they keep happening, how can they even get away with this? imagine if this happened during biden? would be an outrage yet the only place I see any anger is on the internet.
🇨🇦🇺🇦🤔 Where is the Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy when you need him?
Doing an interview on Fox News perhaps?
Yet another mishap involving the FAA & Delta Airlines-
What exactly is the Trump Administration DOING besides maybe allowing Putin to trash the airline industry in America too?
So plane: issues/crashes/injuries/
deaths (some combo of the above) are happening like once or twice a week now.
This is not normal.
And the blame lies squarely at the feet of Trump/Musk.
Don't worry, soon you won't be able to afford to buy the aluminum required for most planes' components due to tariffs, so they'll ground all of these anyway.
Given that DEI was a very good thing, air traffic controllers don't tell pilots to land their planes upside down etc. It seems more like something is interfering with the equipment on the planes. Could GPS jamming by adversaries be a more plausible explanation?
It would make more sense as to why the planes have no spatial awareness. I'll stop talking to myself now and see what others have to say. 😁 Came about info on this phenomenon when I was looking to see if all that Starlink s*** in the sky could be affecting signals.
It is a lack of DEI , apparently, we needed DEI hires to keep the airplanes from doing stupid shit. We need to replace Trump hires with more qualified DEI hires because they did a much better job.
Trump caused this. Use the Conservative playbook: Blame Trump for every accident, incident, failure, sickness, death…. Blame him all day, every day. And, pick on his kids and grandkids and their families. It is the Republican way.
Okay, this is seriously getting out of hand. WTF are they doing about all of these airplane crashes and problems? This almost seems intentional on Musk’s behalf to say his Starlink “is safer” for the court case that’s going to follow is the FAA breaks their contract with Verizon.
WTH. My girl is flying into Detroit from the Philippines in June, on Delta. Not liking these stories in the news lately, especially ones involving Delta.
35? Well, that could be unsettling. I guess it makes sense, thought. Opening Day is coming up and it ain't spring baseball at Citi Field unless the wind is blowing a ton.
I flew w/a captain that pitched for the Mets in the 60’s. He was getting shelled, walked off the mound, took off cap, wiped off head, looked overhead at a plane banking into LGA and said “ that guy’s gotta be having more fun than me” and became a pilot. True story!
@briantylercohen.bsky.social Please be careful when posting stories like this. It comes off as "ATC cuts caused the incident" when in reality it was most likely a strong crosswind. You have an ethical responsibility to not decieve, even if accidentally.
OK, how many planes land everyday? How many with strong crosswinds? How many have had the wing touch? Sorry but this is not a normal occurrence and should be examined beyond its “most likely a strong crosswind”.
There's been a disaster brewing with the increase in pressure for airlines to cut costs. This aircraft was tilted coming in for landing - either pilot or equipment error, and most likely equipment. That stuff has to be maintained very carefully or it breaks. Avoid this "Endeavor" carrier.
You’re right. Under normal circumstances the pilot is fully aware of the level. Sullenberger was a perfect example when he landed in the Hudson. If it’s tilted the leveler lets him know and he adjusts. Good pilots still knows even if the leveler is off specs. A wing touching is once in 20 million.
Yeah, that's the interesting bit. For the wing to touch, they were way over, so the pilot should have known. Makes me wonder if there was an issue with the autopilot hardware. (And this is also why self-driving cars are a bad idea, kids)
Travelling by donkey will soon be the safest way to travel for the most self deluded egotistical “best country on earth” that wants everyone to bow and apologise to it. If only it had ONE thing it would be a good country? What one thing? LOVE ❤️.
So, the response is take that damaged wing back up in the air? If the plane is down enough for the wing to touch the ground, isn't it all but landed already?
Not an aviation person but the wing striking the ground would seem to make a better case for actually landing rather than…checks notes…going back up into the air with a potentially damaged wing. Anyone?
Indeed, not saying this is a good thing or something but you can tell people who understand how aviation works/doesn't from the comments. I also hate how mainstream capitalist media reports on this stuff as if the entire wing spar slammed into the runway
yep - I hear ya. Husband was a commercial (widebody) pilot after Navy. All our friend were pilots and I picked up a lot being a nerdy mechanical type gal. I also learned to hold my tongue as a frequent business flier. 🙄
Reality Check: As a former private pilot, this just looks like pilot error to me. What does this have to do with DEI, Trump or Musk? I loathe the current administration, but it is important we don't succumb to misinformation, else how can we claim the moral high ground?
throws plane's balance off and more likely to wobble a lot on three wheels. since planes have more maneuverability in flight than on the ground better to get airborne and come back around for better landing. Pilots practice touch and gos for this reason.

Hope they get drug tested by a proctologist.
Safe flying everyone.
Shitler
With a damaged wing…⁉️
Seriously! I would be one of those crazy screamers! I HATE flying, especially take offs and landings!! 😩😩😩 this is my worst nightmare!
Fuel calculations take this in mind. pilots are trained to do this from the beginning.
It's literally in the name of safety. If anything feels wrong, go around
Workload increase for context on this 747 footage

This is an A350 in the test but you should get the point

Again, it's a small wingtip scrape like this 737. It is safer to try again wings level.
if you're banked so much that one wing has clipped the pavement, you're likely to take a curved path down the runway and risk going off the edge.

good luck, private jets

I forget there are people who want to blame others rather than taking a look at themselves.
You are right.
so child endangerment fits
What could go wrong?
Why are all these things happening??????
In less than 2 months, some of our FREEDOMS, HOPES and COUNTRY are ALREADY GONE.
If you are feeling UNCERTAINTY and FEAR,
you already know what is happening!
The TIME to PROTEST is NOW.
JUNE 2025, will be likely be too late :)

Like, if I injured my leg on the field and continued playing with the injured leg?
This is wild!

FCK Trump & Musk!
also it is seriously rare considering the amount of flights that happen daily
I am glad I am not flying anytime soon.
This doesn’t appear to be under control
I mean, that would imply that understaffing crucial personnel was a mistake, right?
That's the response to defying court orders or letting children die by stopping AIDS support
And no, this didn't have anything whatsoever to do with Musk, DOGE, FAA, etc. This is 100% pilot.
I don’t know the azimuth. Coulda been an issue
I knew him at the latter 2
Current LGA is 350/15G20. Arrivals would use R31 when ops resume in a few minutes - that's a crosswind component of 12.8 mph.
Happened on Sunday 16th :-)
I assure you that if a MAGA reads this post, they are going to assume the pilot is a DEI hire. Is that also BTCohen’s fault?
WTF wants to DRIVE to TEXAS..
But at this point...
That danged Obama! 🤔

A wing tip strike isn't going to make a plane of this size fall out of the sky.
Wings are ridiculously strong
You always go around
Fuck.
