There's one common link with inaction (unless it involves them and their mates getting money for nothing) and that's the Tory party. The headline should say 'Yet Again Tory Inaction Causes Public Dissatifaction'
It's the British way of kicking things in the long grass .. call for an inquiry.. and by the time the findings and recommendations get published the publics focus will have moved on.
Calling for a national inquiry is the equivalent of doing zilch! Inquiries take years and by the time the report is finally ready the issue has ususally lost urgency, so sitting governments just ignore it and do nothing.
We don’t need a public inquiry into the grooming gangs.
We know what happened via the 7 inquiries so far.
What we need is a public inquiry into why white working class children were abandoned by public officials in police, social services etc and the media hid the issue.
Inquiries are specifically a way to give the illusion of justice while actually delaying action so that those responsible (usually "important" or connected people), avoid punishment. See Grenfell etc.....
Come on we all know why no one did anything for years - because the victims are working class girls. Imagine if these were middle and upper class kids… it’s like when the police blamed the PC culture for not investigating gangs targeting traveler girls instead of just admitting they don’t care
