Quick-time events in games are so funny because what do you mean I have to stay alert during cutscenes in case I have to furiously mash X like my life depends on it? π

Nothing will ever top Chris Redfield relentlessly throwing hooks at a boulder in the middle of a volcano. Starting to think Wesker wasn't the real problem on RE π
Yakuza does them really well, but in Like a Dragon: Yakuza, they had none throughout the entire game and then randomly had one during the last boss fight, which has me second-guessing every game ever now π
This is one of the few things that makes me wonder if Iβll like Expedition 33. RPGs are my jam, but I dunno if I want to do button presses constantly in turn based combat. Maybe if you can disable that part..
I enjoy LAD! I did turn off the Action Prompts though. Thatβs the equivalent of autofailing and itβs about a 10% dmg loss for that attack.. but I can live with that.
Nah mine was because the clowns at Capcom deadass programmed it wrong if your game wasn't locked 30 on pc way back the qtes were painful because you know making then faster because of framerate wasnt high clownery that and you can't walk and shoot at the same time what am I a caveman
That's so ASS LMAO imma have to deal with that too cuz I bought 4 physical a while back on my xbox all I got is a series x tho xbox one got sold years ago and all my 360s red ringed (this shit used to drive me insane btw)
I recall being absolutely disgusted when the final boss of a game had to have the last bit of his life bar taken by a QTE. But I suppose most people donβt remember the dogwater that was Dragonβs Lair.
There are sometimes it doesn't bother me, but usually I'm not the biggest fan. It's story time so let me relax and take it in for god sakes. I'm already on edge during gameplay, shouldn't have to be in cutscenesπ
Love or hate cutscense we globally used to consider a time to relax a bit and just watch while giving our thumbs a short rest. Whoever decided they should become a game of siamon says instead is an absolutely sadistic dick.

The game: "Already too late. RIP."
*fifty tries later*
The game: "FASTER. BITCH."
Me: "Please. No. Make it stop. Make it slower..."
The game: "NO."
Absolute BS QTEs: the button is arbitrary and often randomized so if you fail and have to redo then it's a completely different button (Spiderman 3).
In Tell Tales and Order 1886 they are done well.
Now some games definitely donβt need them.
The only other game I'll excuse Is FF16, It added to the pure cinema of it all π€£
It has turn based combat but requires certain button presses to do the most damage with an attack
I think it works well since you're actively engaged in the fight and it's not just a cutscene
Asura's Wrath was actually pretty good, just lacked engrossing depth.
Oh I'm sorry, you thought that crumbling tower was a set piece? THINK FAST- game over.
Oh and these games punish death heavily, so if you're going for platinum, you have to *redo the entire level again*.
Cos the game is running at 60 now via FPSBoost there's one button mashing sequence near the end thats nearly impossible due to the framerate change

It comes out of NOWHERE.
