Maybe someone could explain to ministers that if someone has underlying health conditions and hasn't worked for many years it doesn't matter how many minutes the jobcentre spends with them a week no employer is going to take on that person

To give an example of the current benefit system. I lost my job on Nov. 20th My rent is £900 a month I am entitled to £1020 UC. But I lose a further £100 due to a loan repayment etc. So I have £20 a month for food elec/gas and everything else. Even Thatcher wasn't this cruel.

Frustrating to see Tice say "we pay highest taxation in 70 years" on #bbcqt. The poor, low paid & middle income do.

Not the rich. In the '70s they were taxed at 90%.

And we had free uni, great council housing, owned ALL our infrastructure, NHS was properly funded & you didn't starve on the dole.

That’s the whole point, it SHOULD be the wealthy paying. Not least because some of them are potentially profiting from war by being shareholders.
I’m not ‘happily pushing for war’ but we have to listen to the cranks in the us and be ready to counter their delusional policy making.

Besides Brexit one of the greatest barriers to growth is lack of disposable income in most UK families. So many people in poverty, many have no money to spend, people, retailers and economy suffer. Tax the rich, redistribute wealth to enable families to spend with confidence and growth will follow.
