I feel like everyone is like this with bananas because everyone has a very specific stage of ripeness they prefer and if it's not in that stage its inedible
As a guy with a costco-sized haul of waffles doing nothing in his freezer because he purchased too close to the end of my kid's waffle phase this hits me.
So true. They will convince you that they cannot possibly live without bananas and when you’ve bought the store out of bananas, they never touch them again.
I'm not sure that's strictly a teenager thing. I tend to buy five or six bananas a week and I either eat them all within a few days or end up throwing most of them away.
I live this scenario in constant rotation. However; I was recently told my banana bread is ‘the best’ - enough so that it’s been requested to gift to the boyfriend’s parents for Christmas 😎
I remember one time as a teen my mom bought oranges and I ate 3 in one day my brothers ate the rest and she was like wtf!? yall are feral! And the next week when she bought oranges they all just sat in the fridge until they died.
I remember the look of pure defeat in her eyes. Bless her.
Then after 3 weeks of no one eating any bananas you don’t buy bananas. The first thing they ask when they walk in the kitchen “do we have any bananas?”
Yeah, I remember those days. I'd eat a 1/2 gal. of chocolate ice cream in a single sitting then not eat any for months. Although I am not exactly sure if it was me or Mon simply not buying any?
Yes if you only have 12 bananas and need one the next day they will be sure to eat all 12 in 24 hours. If you're not interested in eating bananas at all the 12 will sit there and rot

'we hate bananas'
make it make sense
Accurate.
(This question’s gonna put me on a list, I’m sure…)

When I buy a small bunch, they disappear. When I buy multiple hands, they all just sit.
I think it is mostly because he REALLY likes banana bread...
