6 elected Democratic Party Representatives have died in the past year. Do you suppose their age has something to do with that? And does age have an impact on one's health outcomes? Who is to say?
Lisa the average age of death in the states is like 77, they are 7 years away from dying at age 70. Globally is 72. Dementia happens most commonly over 65. Retirement age is 62. Come on.
It’s incredible that some people are so egotistical even when they have stage 4 cancer they refuse to step down from a position in congress or refuse an appointment bc they don’t want someone younger, hungrier and pissed off to take control. They’d rather die in congress than hand over the keys smfh
No it's not old for a federal politician, but it should be right? We should look at the average age of legislators getting higher and higher as a concerning development right?
I would much rather a politician have experience dealing with what the vast majority of their constituents do before representing them. IMO you shouldn’t go right into politics at too young an age. You don’t have the life experience to understand what is needed to help improve the lives of others.
we also have the problem of the exact age of people most targeted by scams running the world and proving incapable of regulating the exponential growth in the scam economy
I mean, we have these actors who are in their 70s/80s still taking on big roles in film/TV & more active than a lot of young people I know. Jane Fonda is 87, still protesting & getting arrested. Martin Scorsese 82 & still directing major films. The ageism! I was never like that in my 20/30s.
I think the "ageism" you're worried about is the fact that the Democrats elected a president with dementia, plus they wheeled out Dianne Feinstein's desiccated corpse for months to pretend she was voting

Oh, you mean ignore what I see with my own eyes?
cause that ain't gonna happen
If any party in the US plans on being taken seriously in the near future
they're going to have to drag the dementia patients out
otherwise they're just guilty of elder abuse
when you were in your 20s/30s bill clinton was elected president at age 46. he is younger than the last 2 presidents and has been term limited out of office for 24 years now
If 70 isn't old then are you treating the death of a 74-year old with cancer as the same kind of tragedy you would a 17-year old who was shot dead in their classroom?

I assume this was a joke, as it would be absurd to otherwise say 70 isn’t old.
Experience matters.
70 Is not too old to serve in Congress.

5 of which over 80.
Several are retiring this cycle.
The 85% is who to be questioned -if age alone is what’s bringing full fascism.
IF YOU CAN REMEMBER IT
not like the oversight committee is important or anything i suppose, did anything big happen in the past 4 months?

Well, I guess that depends on which party you're talking about - doesn't it.

Once you find something let @repjasmine.bsky.social know she’d be interested.
Nevermind that many of these people in question had a history of cancer. The most accurate indicator of getting cancer is if you had it previously.
it's old
retirement age is 65
because 65 is old
