Every woman journalist I know has a MeToo story we couldn’t publish because the legal risks were strangling.

full disclosure i’ve never personally reported on sexual abuse by famous men, but i know based on some previous experiences that it’s ridiculously difficult to publish allegations against someone who isn’t even famous because you want to avoid a lawsuit whenever possible

Most women have been molested or verbally abused by men during their lives & will have MeToo stories.
Famous or not a proportion of the male population will abuse women & we have no viable redress.
This is not just bad for women, it is also bad for the men who don't abuse women.
It's bad for society

Yes - then you have cases like one MeToo story in the Guardian which had something like 10 women accuse an actor and he still sued… no wonder the Brand story took more than 4 years to publish.
