The last Ontarian I know personally who went to hospital there, was killed by an infection staff or unmasked visitors gave him. This was less than a year ago.

I have. Was hospitalized for 6 days due to my IBD last year and spent all of it in a stretcher in a hall way lights blazing 24/7.

I have no qualms with the staff they were doing great despite all of that.

Equipment that doesn't always work. Long wait times for simple procedures. If you haven't been to a hospital in the last couple years, you know someone who has.

I read recently that Big Insurance execs from the US just visited Canada. Don’t fall for their pitch. Canada, you do not need greedy middle men standing between you and your doctors with their hands out, trust us. Find a fix to what is ailing your universal healthcare and make the necessary tweaks

It’s really bad. my dad got quite ill. I moved in with him. tests to identify what was going on with him were long waits in between. Even emergency referred him back to dr. Eventually he had to go by ambulance (ALS) it had progressed so much they couldn’t give him medication to prolong his life 💔

I recently spent a week in the hallway of an ON hospital with acute pancreatitis. I struggled to get the care and meds I needed. A prisoner patient on the floor regularly came, with his guard, to sit beside my bed in the hallway for "change of scenery." I left as soon as I could to recover at home.

I have and I agree. There isn't enough capacity now at even base level. It isn't simply the insufficient number of beds, it's staffing them: doctors, nurses, nurse assistants, PSWs, cleaners, kitchen staff, technicians, maintenance. It's a massive integrated team involved. I was there. I observed.
