Today I've rolled out the rsky-labeler service to automatically label and report anti-Black content.
This means that within milliseconds of someone using an anti-black slur in a post, profile bio, display name, or handle it'll be labeled as antiblack-harassment and reported to @blacksky.app

I’m sorry if that’s unclear but it means everything still gets manually reviewed by our growing team of human moderators.
This work will always be too complicated to set and forget.
2. Thank you for this acknowledgement in particular. It’s easy to want to hand the reins to the computer after getting a project like this up and running and it’s important to resist that urge.
I propose simply not doing it this go-around and seeing how that works for us.
This will get accounts blocked before users see it
In addition to context aware human moderation, automation is also needed
This is based on the same filters Bluesky uses for handles so you may also want to start a GitHub discussion for that if you haven’t already.
Gratitude always, to you Rudy, in helping to protect the Blacksky community.
Good to know you’re keeping the -a variant in the approved list
After some consideration I made the decision to reverse moderation actions against that account and feed.
Several variations don’t get flagged (there are many!)
Open to feedback though.
I've seen some questionable uses all around though. "Race play" accounts are another not-super-straightforward case.
It’s just alerting the Blacksky team that a slur was used and applying a label for us to review and remove it or keep.
If you’re subscribed to @blacksky.app you can configure how labels are handled for you.
I haven't been using the labeler but I think I ought to start. How do I use this? Poked around the github and I didn't see an obvious instruction.
Sorry/thanks in advance.
If you're a dev and wanna run the infrastructure, clone the repo and run "cargo run --package rsky-labeler"
