Honestly i applaud them for doing something different but it really doesn't make sense for a broadcast that seems to be aimed at kids to air on a Monday night.

I’m wondering: if the goal was to attract or gain interest from school age or younger kids, SpongeBob or a similarly popular kids show may have made more sense. Do young kids watch The Simpsons these days?

My 6 year old does not watch the Simpsons. My 6 year old watched, was excited about football trying to learn it. He went to bed and came back up because he wanted to watch a little more. They are cute cartoon figures to kids. I think it likely works without the brand tie in as well.

My 7 does not watch the Simpsons but is aware of the characters. He was interested in the broadcast for about 15 seconds before going back to the Lego thingy he was working on.

You’re right that simply by them being cartoons it probably makes it more interesting for kids. I have two kids, 8 and 3. They can watch TV before school and he wanted to watch NFL Network for highlights. He was just happy to put something on that wasn’t Paw Patrol (finally aging out of that).

I had both up and had a great time. There was enough delay that I could watch the normal broadcast and then see how they handled the play on the Simpson’s broadcast a minute or so later. And half the time, one was on commercial while the other was on.

I only watched a little of it before falling asleep, but did they utilize the technology to show plays from different angles like they did for the Toy Story game last year? It was amazing that they could set the viewpoint from a players position so you could sort of see what they saw during the play

Agreed. I enjoyed watching. I kept thinking that I needed to go back to the actual game. Then I would and found that I really couldn't stand watching two teams play basically without stakes and demonstrating why that is so with play after play. It was more palatable in animated form.

I’m a serious football watcher, but I enjoyed the escapism of living in Simpsons world for 3 hours. I was fully committed. I didn’t even try to find out which player actually scored when Lisa or Ralphie scored. This morning, I watched the YouTube condensed game to find out who really made big plays.
