There's a fancy shop that sells fancy knick knacks at fancy prices on a busy traffic junction, with at least 2 off-street parking spaces (that I never see used), that opened a second shop (briefly) in a busy part of town. They're owned by the same folk who own a bigger fancy furniture place...

The smaller shop, is right next to a pedestrian crossing, opposite a supermarket, next to a major hospital etc etc
And it's closing down.
Why? I'm guessing a combination of things including increased cost of living, them selling luxury items (eg, framed prints of Beatles' song lyrics for $$$)
Frankly, I call bullshit.
Maybe the market for expensive knick knacks is a bit fucked because it's limited?
Yeah, that's demonstrably crap. After all, those 2 carports could be taken by several dozen cars every day,and their ocuppants have no intention of going into their shop.
Two carparks.Tens of thousands of cars. And no guarantees.
FIL talked about the major changes in shopping in America.
San Francisco Westfield has just about closed down.
10 years ago that place was pumping.
No kids , no friends?
🤔
Really honestly surprised as they developed in Newtown and expanded from there that they wouldn’t be f wits… but
Cycle lanes are definitely not their downfall
