The Pro Bowl is more of a popularity contest at times, measuring his value to the rams using that qualifier is not something that represents a players value etc and the issue has been injury’s limiting his overall output imho
I agree, but I think I understand why. His Triple Crown year, followed by that SB drive (no-look pass + the TD to win it), created so much exposure that many people have a hard time thinking of him as lesser than that nowadays.
Exactly when you posted this, I was moping the floors listening to you say “you always want to kind of be careful with being definitive about a player. I feel like has played a lot better than his career accolades would suggest because he's made like two Pro Bowls in his career, which is a crime.”
He was good with Goff, great with Stafford and elite only one season. But I think, like Puka, being a later round pick and setting the league on fire is always a good media story.
If he was worth it Les would've paid him. They gave that money to Davante which says it all.
I have heard that story so many times, and can’t figure out if it’s apocryphal or not. To make matters worse, the Puyallup Fair just like stole the damn name.
I think it's probably the whole getting the receiving triple crown and nearly breaking the single season catches and yards record that captures folks imagination. That said, I'm with you.
I mean it was the single best WR season in NFL history, a 21-game domination of the league where he was somehow better in the postseason and won Super Bowl MVP

I guess your clickbait post wouldn't work if you mentioned these pinnacle accolades tho huh 🤦♂️
for comparison, that's more times than randy moss was ever targeted in a single season (185, second most 172)
Also, scrappy white guy. Lunch pail and such.

Could have been if we had chosen the college instead of the fair back in the day.
