You guys, it’s perfectly OK to primary octogenarians
- even if you generally like them
- even if they don’t have bad voting records
the median age in Congress is 59, while the median of Americans is 39!

Let the new blood run against them during election time.
I really really hate age discrimination.
But I love elections, and since there’s going to be one. I don’t understand the problem.
The “octogenarian” hasn’t even decided whether to run yet.
Otherwise, they need to get out of the way, and let the younger generations lead. You know, the people who are going to have to live here, in the future.
Wise people are smarter today than they were yesterday. Judge people on what they do, not how old they are.
If you can’t do that, then just STFU.
As soon as that orange mother fucker started signing executive orders, they should have been at it.
They're running on outdated software and refuse to update it. They need to go
That's not good
...exactly
Millennials, Gen Z? You got this ~ ~
But doesn’t the avg age of the pop include children?
There’s something to be said for electing people to the national legislature who have significant political or professional experience.
....the day before my birthday.
Fresh blood gets people energized and engages new voters.
come on, dude. At 17 I thought i was a Libertarian
I’d offer that 10 years ago is a LONG time ago for someone this young- it’s completely normal to start out with the views of your family and grow into your own.
As to your first point: if a young democrat is going to primary a sitting Dem they’d damn well better run smart and win. She has some big advantages (or we’d not be in this thread), but I think she also has bad judgment.
Planners, engineers etc. don't have as much influence on what actually gets built or done within a city, state etc.
And they all want to be on SCOTUS in Congress or president
The audacity of this generation is sickening
They think they know best but can’t remember what they had for breakfast or where they put their teeth

and there’s all the ones that get dementia…
why is the automatic assumption that this is something nefarious rather than: 80 year olds can retire, it’s ok
what are we doing here
Primaries >>>>>>> Term Limits
i could have sworn most people used to be older than me
Bring on term limits or mandatory retirement age in Congress
