A curious note: the final Thanks To in the credits mentions “P.T.’s Centerville” which is almost certainly “P.T.’s Centreville” in Illinois, a notorious strip club that closed in 2021. They claim they were in business for over 30 years at close, but this would have been 41 years ago at filming. Odd.

I absolutely loved this movie when I was a kid. Rewatching as an adult… not so much. Donald Pleasance remains perfect as the cowardly-then-deranged POTUS. Did you know there is actually a sequel ‘Escape From L.A.’? It is objectively terrible but you should probably watch it anyway.
