I worked Toys R Us for a few Christmas seasons. It blew my mind people couldn't understand why they couldn't buy Furbys off the shelf or Playstations as if we were hiding them out back to sell to other people.

This! As a teenager I worked at a large retailer the year of Tickle Me Elmo, a local radio station incorrectly announced the store I worked in had them in stock on Black Friday morning. The amount of abuse we received was over a child’s toy for Christmas changed my entire perspective on people.

I don't know why, but always signed up for the holiday days no one else wanted to do. Used to be great seasonal fun. Customers could be difficult but most were cheerfully seasonal

I worked several Black Fridays at Best Buy a million years ago and I didn’t personally have any bad experiences with customers. But some people definitely acted like rabid animals just to get a TV for 25% off.
